Ancestry.com - search for some US pilots

Hi all,

Slghtly unusual request.

I am currently researching an American aircraft and I am on the trail of five pilots who flew her. All the pilots are listed on Ancestry.com, a geneology site which provides d.of.b, d.of.d, town, state etc, social security etc etc. Very good it seems.

Unfortunately the site costs $99 for three months which is a bit expensive for only five full searches.

Was wondering if anyone was a member or has a family emember who is. Quite happy to send through some magazines or dollars to cover these few searches.

Any help would be great to receive.

I would start with the Veterans Administration's Nationwide Gravesite Locator, at http://www.cem.va.gov/ This lists everyone (as far as I know) who is interred in a National Cemetary, ie, one run by the VA. Since any veteran can request burial in a National Cemetary, this will have many who died after the war.

If you can't find them there, post the names and I will see what I can find on ancestry.com (I do have a membership).

Looked through thr VA site. They had a listing for Griffin, so will contact the cemetary tonight. It also matched the Ancestry site as well.

You didn't list the plane's serial # or any names of pilots. Hard to help without starting info. Don
