Messerschmitt engine starter AL/SGC 24 DR2

Hello,
I don't really know much about WW2 airforces, but my grandpa gave me a part from Messerschmitt. It's a starter, it should be functional although the cabels are a little bit damaged.
I was just wondering whether it has any value. After I researched internet I found that it's probably from engine Daimler-Benz DB 605. My grandpa told me that he took it from Messerschimitt right after the war ended, so I thought it was probably Bf 109 or 110.

Do you think it's any valuable part?

Hi!

Used in both the Me109 and Fw190...plus a few others.

The arm on the side indicates it is DB605/Me109

They are readily available even today for around $400-$500 in usable condition...

Most likely left over from WNF DIANA...which was one of the main Me109 factories in your country...

Well Pepkus they don't make them anymore so yes, I would say it is valuable. Is your question related to the value in the sense of historical or monetary?

Re: Messerschmitt engine starter AL/SGC 24 DR2

Hi Pepkus,
The Bosch inertia starter AL/SGC 24 DR 2 is indeed correct for a DB605 engine. However, this starter has an electric mode and was not used on the 109 because there was not room due to the ammunition boxes behind the engine. All original 109's used the shorter manual-only AL/SED starter.
Your starter is possibly from a Bf110.
Best wishes Chris

Thank you all for your reactions and information, it helped me a lot.
To Stephnen, my question is related to the value in sence both historical and monetary. It's not my plan to keep it, so I thought I'll sell it to someone who would need it.
