Re: Oblt Dimter Wilhelm NJG1

Alain: Might I suggest you write his name as Oblt Wilhelm Dimter as some might think you are asking about a Oblt D Wilhelm?

Re: Oblt Dimter Wilhelm NJG1

I believe you refer to Oblt Willi Dimter (7 victories) who crashed and was killed 16/17-9-1942 but I am sorry I don't have a photo. In my correspondence with Emil Nonnenmacher many years ago he did refer to a photo of the Besatzung Dimter but I don't know what happened to his collection after Emil died.

I forgot to say, I believe that the photo was mid August 1941 with the wreck of a Whitley which they had shot down.

Alain: What I am saying that for 12 OCH, it is more normal to write his Christian name (Wilhelm?) before his surname (Dimter?). A date of death might help you as well

The grave of Oblt. W. Dimter is located at Ysselsteyn AZ-7-163
Before that he was buried at Breda at the General Cemetery "Zuijlen".
So the grave location is not A2/7/163 but AZ/7/163.
Block A2 does not exist and the name of the village is Ysselsteyn.
The village Ysselsteyn is located near Venray and IJsselstein south of Utrecht.
Distance between the two locations is about 90 Km.
And according to my information his unit was 9./NJG 2 and the crashdate September 17th, 1942.
