406th Fighter Group – September 7, 1944 mission.
Hello,
I am looking for information and details about two attacks of the 406th Fighter Group against a German column the 7th of September 1944 on the road between the towns of Châteauroux and Issoudun, in the Center of France. The Distinguished Unit Citation was awarded to the 406th FG for these two decisive missions. For example: the times Up and Down, Squadrons, pilot’s names and planes involved. One P-47 (serial 42-26798) from 512th FS was lost during one of the attacks and I would know more about the circumstances of this loss. Greetings from France. Warmest regards, Frederic Henoff.
