Information help on early spitfire ?

Hello,

I am a beginner at this so thank you in advance for any help.
I was wondering if anyone can give me more information about a data plate
I found. I am assuming it's for a spitfire but I may be mistaken.

It is marked:
Vickers-Armstrong ltd
Supermarine works Southhampton
Serial #6s67319 Date 28/5/40
Drg no 25601sh2 issue d5
( it is damaged by the second number so it might be a 5 or 6)
Passed 6s AID
58 GA5

Can anyone tell me more about this plane and what part of the plane this data plate came from?

Thank you again.

Could that be "23601sh2 issue d5" ? If so it is probably Walrus rather than Spitfire.

Hello Airman 12,

Please inform us as to how and where you "found" this data plate.

It would in relation to the link of an earlier post as shown by Paul McMilllan in post 3 above (in the link post 1 to 7 only apply to this data plate the rest is another matter) seem to be either the same dataplate or it is a copy of the same dataplate.

I find this all VERY ODD and think it should be investigated.
Alex
