118 Squadron
On 18/07/43 I believe the squadron claimed 2-0-1. My reading however gives kills to FL Shepherd, Shepherd and FS Anderton, FL Newbery and PO Flight. Anyone know what the results were - 2 or 4 kills?

Re: 118 Squadron
According to the Fighter Command Combats & Casualties report for that week, the squadron claimed 3 Me-109s destroyed. According to their combat reports, they were credited to Newbery, Shepherd, and Shepherd+Anderton.

Re: 118 Squadron
It looks like PO Roy Flight's kill (listed as shared in "Those Other Eagles") was disallowed. I wonder if he is being confused with Anderton?
Thanks again Frank and Chris. |
