Sub-Lt (A) D.H.P. McClisky, DSC, RNZNVR
Hi,
I am searching for information about Sub-Lieutenant (A) D. H. P. McClisky, DSC, RNZNVR I found following in The Royal New Zealand Navy by S.D. Waters (Official History): "As an experienced fighter pilot of 1841 Squadron, HMS Formidable, McClisky was in five strikes over Japan and destroyed at least three enemy aircraft." Is the information about claims correct? He is not mentioned in Those Other Eagles which includes most of the pilots with confirmed claims of two to four enemy aircraft destroyed . Thanks in advance Peter |

Hi Peter
Strange! I can't find a pilot of this name in my records. Perhaps you could try Paul Sortehaug in New Zealand - he is a specialist on RNZN fighter pilots. You might be able to reach him at planet_nath@yahoo.com In the meantime I will keep seraching! Cheers Brian |

Thanks Bruce,
To me it "sounds" like he could be the one. Do you know if he was from New Zealand? The claims isn´t matching but sometimes claims for damaged has turned into destroyed in the official histories. Do you know anything about claims for damaged by 1841 Sqn or claims for aircraft on ground? Cheers Peter |

Re: Sub-Lt (A) D.H.P. McClisky, DSC, RNZNVR
Hi Peter
most of the actions 1841 were engaged in were strafing airfields so it is probable the the 3 victories were aircraft destroyed on the ground. Bruce |
