two Spitfire photos to ID

From two expired auctions. One is from 65 Squadron (YT). The other is from 92 Sq (QJ) and has a serial starting with R6xx.

Re: two Spitfire photos to ID

Speculation on my part.
92 Sqn
Spitfire V R????
Shot down 23 June 1941
Pilot Sgt H Bowdon-Morris (POW)
The 92 Sqn ORB shows Bowdon Morris as flying W3425 but this aircraft was not lost until 1943.
The photo shows heavy damage on the starboard cockpit and RAF Fighter Command Losses Vol 1 , mentions he lost an arm in the encounter.

Re: two Spitfire photos to ID

I think Versuch is bang-on.
The second digit looks very much like a 7 to me.
Someone with photo-editing skills might be able to make the serial easier to read.
