Re: Len Deighton, author

Sad... I remember the sunny day in 1985 when my father brought me the Yugoslav edition of the "Fighter". It was the first aviation book I ever read. I loved it very much, so much that I read it few more times...

I quite liked "Bomber" both the book and the audio play narrated by Tom Baker of Doctor Who fame

Re: Len Deighton, author

This edition was the first book of World War Two aviation I ever owned. Started me on a long (and expensive) journey.

I have the play on BBC cassette somewhere. When it was first broadcast it was done in separate real-time sections across the day, according to when scenes in the book were taking place. I also read that they seated the actors playing the Lancaster members at the appropriate distances along a corridor.

P.S. My introduction to Len Deighton was reading Funeral in Berlin as a teenager. Re-reading it last year, it was just as good.
