Helmut-Felix Bolz burial in Madrid

Hello,
Could anybody tell me what might be the missing letters of his birth place?
A shame the condition of the gravestone, but at least somebody put flowers
after almost 40 years since his death far away his homeland.

Thank you
Fran

Re: Helmut-Felix Bolz burial in Madrid

I think, Ostrp is a typo and is really Ostpr, which is the abbreviation of Ostpreußen. So my guess would be Nikolaiken/Ostpreußen (East Prussia). This would be today the Polish town Mikołajki, about 120 km SE to Kaliningrad.
Hope this helps.
Robert

A very popular place, that is. Perhaps his home is still around, does anyone have address?
By the way, does anyone know, why he was called Antek (Polish Tony)???

Thanks Robert and Franek,
Everyday being impressed for the high level of this forum.

I did not know his alias was 'Antek'.

Cheers

Re: Helmut-Felix Bolz burial in Madrid

Bonsoir,
It's funny but it's difficult to have a good biography of Helmut-Felix Bolz although he was a great pilot (3 victories during spanish war, 3 years in the Jagdgeschwader Richthofen (Staka 5./JG2, Kommandeur II.& I./JG2, DKG the 06/03/44. 18 victories durung WW2...)
Could someone say what happen to him at the end of the war.
Thanks
Fredo

Re: Helmut-Felix Bolz burial in Madrid

Hello,

Indeed it is difficult, I even ever found a biography on Helmut-Felix Bolz.
If you know something on Helmut-Felix Bolz, I will be happy. I especially seek to know if Helmut-Felix Bolz were shot down by B17 and were wounded on May 29, 1943, whereas it was in I./group of the JG 2.

Thank you

Dan
