Re: May 29 1944

The 1st BD sent 48 B-17s to bomb Cottbus. I am trying to find out who escorted them.

As noted most of the claims for the 8th AF were from Leipzig area and northward.

The 15th AF bombed Wiener-Neudstadt from the south so maybe the 31st or the 52nd ranged as far north as Dresden. They managed to clobber II./ZG 1 Me 110s and their escorts that day.

Re: May 29 1944

Thanks a lot

So, it does mean that only possible candidate could be planes of 375th FS 361st FG. What does Olynyk write about claims of this Squadron? I mean Area, Time and Type of German Plane...

Couldn´t be Lackau in reality Luckau?

Re: May 29 1944

Have a look here:
http://www.miedzyrzecz.biz/historia/...-bitwa_ang.htm
There were heavy air fights between P-51 B (361st) and Fw 190 A (JGr Ost) in Meseritz area, I am very interested in any information about this...
I have heard, that 361st later shot down some Me 410 in Landsberg/Warthe area...

Delmenhorst: May I ask, where you have got the information in post #5 from?

regards
