HEINZ WAGNER 6/ZG 76 and 4/ZG 76 1940
Heinz WAGNER. I am looking for info and photos of him and his units for private Research. He served in France and was himself shot down by Willie McKnight on Aug. 30th 1940. Wagner did shoot down 1 Morane plane on 13th May 1940 and another Morane on 22nd June 1940 while in France. I would like further info on these Morane planes and Pilots too.

Re: HEINZ WAGNER 6/ZG 76 and 4/ZG 76 1940
GC II/2 lost 3 Morane 406s to 6/ZG 76 on 13 May 40 but none have been credited to Wagner. On 22 June four Morane 406s were lost to 6/ZG 76 in strafing. However, both claims are for Fw Franz Wagner of 6/ZG 76 lost 15 Aug 40 not Hptm Heinz Wagner of 4/ZG 76 lost 30 Aug 40

Re: HEINZ WAGNER 6/ZG 76 and 4/ZG 76 1940
Hi Guys
You are indeed talking about Franz and not Heinz. However he did claim on 13th May 1940 at 1850 hrs, thia appears on the typed-out earlier type micro film. The second was on the sub-list as an A.S.M at 1730hrs over Rochford on 22nd June 1940...both Morane's. He did indeed come to grief on 15th August 1940. Regards Johannes |

Johannes- thanks for backing me up. I agree that he did claim on 13 May but that his kill cannot be positively linked to any French loss

GCII/2 lost three Ms 406s but also 3 returned damaged.
On 22.6.40 Ms 406 no.1062 of AC5 was lost to 4./ZG76. Regards Robert |
