Polish Pilot Identity?

The officer in the centre is Michael Staples of 609 Sqn, convalescing after being shot down on 7 October 1940. Possibly taken at Torquay.

Can anyone identify the Polish officers? Only one seems to be a pilot.

Re: Polish Pilot Identity?

Hello Andy,

Neither of them seems to be a pilot. The one on the left has a non-pilot brevet (most probably observer's/navigator's) the other one has none at all. Any chance for a higher res scan of their Polish ranks (collar patches), RAF ranks (sleeves) and the brevet?
Any idea of the timeframe?

Wojtek

I might struggle with a higher res scan, but will try. Send me a PM with your e-mail as I have a feeling I no longer have it.

Failing that, you can borrow my print.

I hadn't noticed that the other brevet was not a pilot, by the way!

This has to be taken some time post 7 October 1941, and well before 9 November 1941. I suspect it is at Torquay.
