Re: Tom Neil
How sad but inevitable!
I had the pleasure of meeting Tom a number of times, including one occasion at his home in Norfolk. We consumed a few G&Ts together with his late wife and her friend Daffers. Most enjoyable. At Duxford one year, Tom fell whilst getting up from the table, and my wife Val and I saved him from falling on to the floor. One of the old school, one of the Few, and a perfect gentleman. RIP Brian |

Re: Tom Neil
Tragic would describe him dying before his time. On the contrary,
he lived a long and full life and it was old age that took him in the end. So let's rejoice that we shared this world with such a man and some of us, like Brian, were privileged to know him |

Re: Tom Neil
Dear Nick,
In a way, you are right. Young pilots who were killed in combat died tragically indeed. However, death is always a sad event. For example, my grandma passed away in February at 103 years of age, and still, we were all hoping for her to recover and live. Unfortunately, even though on Saturday she seemed to be getting better, the next Monday she passed away. |
