7/ZG 26 pilots in 1940-Eiberg,Heinrich,Haase,
Hello, please help me track the fate of the following 7/ZG 26 pilots who flew on bf 110 in 1940:
Rudolf Eiberg Hans Grau Olt Kurt Wilhelm Heinrich Ofw Siegfried Haase Fw Hermann Dibowski Harald Roemer Josef Bracun Helmut Lange Uffz Leonard kaufmann Kuno Konopka Lt Hans Arno Seehausen Ernst Matthes They claimed only during 1940, so, IMO they were ultimately shot down and killed/POW. Please, let me know details, anyway. Thank you in advance. |

Hi Bogdan,
some information`: Konopka KIA on the 26.09.40 in combat with Hurricanes Eiberg was Bf Grau s/d by Spitfire on the 03.09.40 and taken POW Heinrich s/d in combat on the 20.05 and DOW on the 24.05 Dibowski was WIA in combat on the 02.09.40 and c/l Bracun KIA in combat with Hurricanes on the 31.03.41 Kaufmann KIA in combat with Hurricanes on the 06.09.40 Regards Robert |

Here I am with Ernst Matthes at his home in the Austrian countryside in the early 1990s.
![]() Matthes was Staffelkapitän of 7./ZG 26 during the BoB, and flew in the Med theatre later.

it was on the airfield Arques with Bf110 C-4 2191 3U+BR damaged in 45%. His radio-op. Ogfr Karl-Heinz Boock was unhurt. Regards Robert |
