RCAF pilots

Hi,

Does anyone have any details of the following pilots? I'm looking for basic info such as when and where they were born, when they joined the RCAF and where did they do their basic training.

J/26504 Alexander Barr
J/15157 Edgar Brearley
R/72637 John Robert Brennan
J/36786 Alan William Campbell
J/15111 Donald Ross Gill
J/28384 Frederick Stanley Le Gear
J/16549 A B McCully
R/67887 Donald Burton McPhail
R/149115 Alton James Ryan
J/10393 Leonard Arthur Unwin
J/12065 William James Windeller
J/20138 Norman Paulle Courtney Woodward

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Alex

Re: RCAF pilots

Am I right to assume you're studying 263 Sqn pilots?

A random look on the CWGC website gave McPhail, Le Gear and Woodward as KIA with 263 Sqn and with these three I had only started...
Perhaps some first general info on where they all came from and their ages on said website?

Regards,

Leendert

Re: RCAF pilots

Hi Leendert,

Thanks, I know about the CWGC site and am familiar with the info it provides. Where an age is given I can work out the year the individual was born. Where the parents were from doesn't necessarily indicate that the individual was born there as well. Both my kids were not born in the area my wife and I are from.

So far I have the names of 12 RCAF pilots who flew with 263 Squadron. I thought I would list them all in the hope that someone may be able to add to some of the background info I am looking for.

Alex

Many of the background details you are looking for, town of origin etc, appear in "They Shall Grow Not Old" ISBN 0-920436-41-2.

Re: RCAF pilots

Dear Alex,

If you are having problems accessing "They Shall Not Grow Old", let me know and I'll e-mail the information on these airmen. I tried sending you an e-mail but it bounced back.
