16/05/1940 He111 shot down by German flak over Belgium

Hi !

Received the following unconfirmed information that a He111 was shot down by German flak between Antwerp and Brussels on 16/05/1940. One crewmember, Werner Dorenberg, was killed. I was not able to find him on the Volksbund website.
Is this information correct ??

best regards from a rather cold Belgium

Luc

Hello Luc,

Sorry but I missed your original posting.

2./LG1 Heinkel He111H. Shot down by own flak near Krefeld. Fw W. Dörenberg killed, rest of crew baled out unhurt. Aircraft a write-off.

Peter,

Many thanks for your reply.
