Interesting Ta 152 and Fw 190 D-9 picture

Allthough already mentioned in an other post, this picture on Ebay is interesting enough to start a new thread I think;

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=150199691542

Anybody wants to comment on this picture?

regards.

John

Re: Interesting Ta 152 and Fw 190 D-9 picture

I have't seen the other thread that you mentioned yet.

Is it definitely a TA-152 or could it be a D-9 with the TA tail? Any idea on Wrk. Nr.?

Regards,
Mike

Zero bids, ended by seller for no reason... what's the story here?
Looks like a very interesting photo indeed.

Maybe not so. Acc to others that photo is well known. See the comments at LEMB.

Well actually, the other photos referenced show the aircraft outside as a background to Generalmajor Peltz i/c Defence of the Reich's visit to JG 301 on 14 Mar 45. So, this photo was not part of that sequence.

Re: Interesting Ta 152 and Fw 190 D-9 picture

In the forthcoming Luftwafe im Focus #13 the following article is listed:
Aircraft in Focus: The story of the Ta 152 “white 7", 5./JG 301
Perhaps we will learn a good deal more about this aircraft in the next 30days and perhaps this is a factor in why the photo was a no bid

Re: Interesting Ta 152 and Fw 190 D-9 picture

Hm... Strange to think about an airplane from 5./JG301... Especially since not any Ta 152 had been delivered to II./JG301 as far as we know...
Looks like if A.Urbanke unaware from the latest conclusion about JG 301 markings http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showth...=extraordinary and http://www.eagle-editions.com/dorabook.htm was lured by the horizontal bar and thus wrongly concluded as an airplane from II./JG301 and thus from 5./JG301?

To my eyes, this photo from German source show for the first time so well, an operational Ta 152 undoubtly from the Geschwaderstab as proved from it's blue horizontal bar (blue according to NASM restoration but green according to R.Cescotti memory inside latest J.Crandall book about Fw 190 Dora.)
White digit is, very probably, because the photo was taken shortly after transfer from III./JG301 to Geschwaderstab which occur on 13 March 1945 and was then not yet overpainted with a green digit.

Question: I never saw his flugbuch but could be Reschke "white 1" flown on 15 April 45 actually be this "white 7" ? It could be perhaps easy to miss-read between handmade 1 and 7 on the Flugbush?

Thanks for this unvaluable link John

Hello Olivier

W Rescheke piltoted white 1 on 14.04.1945 . I there is no doubt about the tactical code .
