BA-MA & Luftwaffe Karteikarten

Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster!!

I am under the impression that a number of Luftwaffe Karteikarten used to reside in BA-ZNS but have recently moved to BA-MA. I am visiting BA-MA in Sep/Oct of this year and would like to gather career data on Luftwaffe Flak officers.

Is this information correct and if so, how easy is it to get access to the cards? What is the process?

I would be especially grateful for any help from Jaap Wortmann and Marcel Hogenhuis who I believe had a bit of experience in this area.

Thank you in advance.

Scott

Re: BA-MA & Luftwaffe Karteikarten

The data moved from Aachen to Freiburg.
I asked about it on my last visit last year.
I was told, that normal persons have to access to the files.
This is due to the silly German regulations.

Re: BA-MA & Luftwaffe Karteikarten

They have the same rules as when it was with BA-ZNS! The person has to be deceased at least 30 years!!! And only the officers went to Freiburg! NCO and privates went to WASt Berlin!

Re: BA-MA & Luftwaffe Karteikarten

Thank you all for your reply. Regarding the 30 years..how do they know if they have been deceased for 30 years.....or does the researcher have to prove that they are dead?

Any mor einformation would be appreciated.

Cheers

Scott
