Did you mean "STURMSTAFFEL 1: Reich Defence 1943-1944 The War Diary"
(Classic Publications ISBN10: 0952686791) by Eric Mombeek?

"Defenders of the Reich" was Mombeek's 3-volume history of JG 1.

Hi Nick! No this is a Title that I guess has been in the works for a long time, and to tell you the truth I am not sure what the exact title is? But I know it was suppose to be "The" Do All Book on Sturmstaffel 1. all the best Mike.

Hi Mike

Barry Smith's planned two-volume history of Sturmstaffel 1 is provisionally entitled 'Storm the Fortresses' & was cited on a number of occasions in the recent Caldwell Defence of the Reich title as an 'unpublished manuscript'. Barry has been working on this project for a while now. I'm not sure if Barry reads this board but last I heard he was looking to have Vol 1 ready for publication by the end of the year. I contributed to & read the manuscript a few years back. When it does appear it will definitely be the last word on this unit..
