Need Help! VVS 13th Guards Long Rang Bomber Regiment

Hello and thank you to whomever clicked on the title.

I am really trying to get some information on the 13th Guards Long Range Bomber Regiment. I am assuming it was VVS but I suppose it could be naval as well. I feel the information is locked up in Russian text/sites which I can not read!

Info I am looking for: Original reg. designation, approx. time became guards, theater of operations, types of aircraft flown, types of missions flown, any personnel names.

Any help would be most appreciated. Feel free to email me at tod@rathbonemuseum.com to discuss.

Cheers,

Tod

Re: Need Help! VVS 13th Guards Long Rang Bomber Regiment

Tod,

Experts on Russian air regiments and Orbats are invited to add much more info, but so far the only reference I found to "13th Guards" seems to be a B-25 equipped unit.
Full story here: http://lend-lease.airforce.ru/englis...tkin/index.htm

Regards,

Leendert

WWW.allaces.ru shows the 13GBAP as having been the 43BAP of June 1941. They had Su-2's at that time.

Both a book I have and Nokose indicate that 13th GBAP was the 43 BAP. Any idea on equipment, commanders, which front?

Thanks,

Tod

If you use a on line translator (example:yahoo Babel Fish) and go to the organization section it has a brief history and the C.O.'s . They served on the Southwest Front.
