Winter War 18 February 1940
Hello,
According to Keskinen and Stenman’s ”Suomen Ilmavoimat part II – 1928-40”, 149 IAP claimed three victories on 18 February 1940 while using Polikarpov I-153s; Mayor Plygunov (Bulldog), Mayor Kuldin (Fokker D.XXI) and Leytenant Litvinenko (Fokker D.XXI). The Bulldog was probably claimed in combat with Gladiators from LLv 26 (luutnantti Paavo Berg being one of the pilots). Is there anyone with the full name on these Russian pilots? Is Litvinenko, the 23-victor ace Trofim Afanasevich Litvinenko, who was in 191 IAP from June 1941? Best wishes/Håkan
