Siebel Si 204E
Hello,
does somebody know how many planes of this version (Si 204E) were built and where? And in which timeframe? As well, does somebody has any information about crashes of this special type? Many thanks for help Best Michal |

Re: Siebel Si 204E
The only production versions of the Si 204 I have seen are Si 204A-0, A-1, D-1, D-3 and D-4. By 30.11.1944 only 17 D-3 aircraft had been delivered and the D-4 was expected to enter production in June 1945, so it is doubtful if any D-4 was ever built.

Re: Siebel Si 204E
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the Si 204 D-2, D-3 and D-4 subtypes were? I have seen information about the Si 204 D-0/D-1 but little or nothing on the other versions.
Thanks. |

Re: Siebel Si 204E
I think there's a person in Czech republic working on a book on the Siebel 204. Hopefully we will one day see it published. It would be an interesting story to read.

Re: Siebel Si 204E
Hello,
I have looked through some Verlustmeldungen but have no chance to track any loss of Si 204 by some Nachtschlachtgruppe. Does somebody have some information about losses of Si 204 by NSGr.? Thanks for help Michal |

Re: Siebel Si 204E
Hi Michal
This may not help but there is a book "German Aircraft of the Second World War" by J R Smith and Anthony Kay which has a section on the Si204 but unfortunately mentions only the 204A and 204D without any sub -types and no mention of the 204E at all.The a/c was mostly built in France at the nationalised SNCAC factory and production continued after the war. There were over 300 of both types built post war where the 204A was designated NC702 and the 204D was the NC701. The 204D was also built in Czechoslovakia as the C-103 but no numbers are given. The totals for wartime production are not given but the a/c had a variety of roles including transport and training and at least one version was fitted with guns above the fuselage and external bombs although this could have been for crew training. There is mention of it's use in a Mistel combination but only as a means of getting an experimental Delta wing fighter into the air, the Lippisch DM-1 in a glider version Regards Dick |

Re: Siebel Si 204E
From
" Flugzeug Profile Band 20 : Siebel Fh 104/Si204 Varianten " Si 204 D-3 : Same as D-1 with modified fuel system ,basis for french and tchechoslovakian versions Si 204 E : Bomber ,4 MG 131 (one in dorsal turret ),internal bomb bay. Probably 2 prototypes built in tchechoslowakia, V22&V23 .Some built after the War as Aero C-3B . -(Page 581 of Smith&Kay book ,the pic labelled Si 204 D is in fact " the Si 204 E prototype with 4 MG and internal bomb bay ") - BTW ,one captured Si 204 D with Radar (training for night fighter's crews) was shown at Farnborugh with "Air Min 4" registration |
