Lancaster DV267

Looking for more information on this aircraft and crew.

DV276 was one of seven 101 Sqdn Lancasters lost on this particular operation. also lost were LL832; LL861; ME618; DV264; DV290; LM463.

Airborne 22:05 30 Mar44 from Ludford Magna.
Shot down by Oblt Helmut Schulte, 11./NJG5 and crashed 01:25 31Mar44 at R_thenbach, 16 km WNE from the centre of Nuremburg.

As I understand this Lancaster carried a Airborne Cigar (A.B.C.) - jamming transmitter carried by No101 Sqn Lancasters using an 8th crew member to monitor and then jam German night fighters.

Question did this aircraft also bomb as well as Jam?

regards

drew

Re: Lancaster DV267

ABC aircraft did usually carry a bombload. There is a lovely picture on one offloading its bombs here:
