Thai? Siamese? Fr. Indochina? What Air Force and when?
I came across this unique uniform this morning and could not pin down what country or period it comes from. Based on the style of tailoring alone and the brim construction of the hat I would have to say anywhere from 1945-1965. But that is it. The style of the badge reminds me of an early Thai/Siam badge I have seen but that is not conclusive. Do you know? Please tell!
Cheers, Tod ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Thai? Siamese? Fr. Indochina? What Air Force and when?
Hi Tod
The badge with Lightning flashes suggests Radio ?Operator, the epaulette bars suggest an Officer. Is it possibly a Civilian Airline Uniform? A lot of military tunics have patch pockets but often with brass buttons, although Navies do often have the slit pocket even where there is a breast pocket as shown on your picture, . Your experience is greater than mine but my impression of military uniforms is that cap and other badges(such as the ?wings in your photo)would have a clearer indication of Nationality such as a Crown, eagle or the like or RAF,USAF etc. My experience was RAF and contact with USAF and Commonwealth Air Forces post WW2.
