Aerial view of Oberwiesenfeld dump yard 1945
Gentlemen,
some days ago I discovered this shot of a Luftwaffe airplane dump at Oberwiesenfeld airfield in Munich. Date of caption is 28 May 1945, the photo was printed in Richard Bauer: "Fliegeralarm. Luftangriffe auf München 1940-1945." (Munich, 1987) I have never seen any photo of Oberwiesenfeld at the war's end before, and even though you cannot see much detail this overview might help identifying other photos from this scrap yard which might have been not attributable as of now. there is at least one other view of Oberwiesenfeld, printed in a book from Motorbuchverlag years ago. I don't remember the exact title, but is was something like "Das Kriegsende in Deutschland". It was two volumes - Germany West and East - with hundreds of aereal views of any kind. HTH Carl
