R. P. Stevens' 151 Sqn Hurricane Serial
In Alastair Goodrum's "No Place for Chivalry" details of Stevens' last claim on the night of 22/23 Oct. 1941 is related, however the serial number of his Hurricane IIc is first given as Z2361 but later as Z3261. I am inclined to think that the latter is correct since that seems more likely to be a Mark IIc. Anyone have the gen on this?
In the same book, the Mosquito II flown by I.S. Smith on the night of 24/25 June 1942 is stated to be W4097. However Shores & Williams in "Aces High" say it was W4095. Both of these Mossies served with 151 Sqn., anyone know which is correct? Thanks, Tom |
