unknown AF in Ukraine 1944

Acc. to a russian source (Katukow, "in the direction of the main thrust") in this place was a german AF with "80 bombers". Also, it is mentioned in a book on tank battles seen from the german side.

Both books talk about 10.01.44 as a date for ground fighting. Which Luftwaffe units were based there?

Yes, sure... with different version s of spelling etc. pp. ...

PS: It was called "Shukowzy" in the books. Other places around are "Shmerinka"=Zhmerynka and "Nowo Petrowsk".
