unknown AF in Ukraine 1944
Acc. to a russian source (Katukow, "in the direction of the main thrust") in this place was a german AF with "80 bombers". Also, it is mentioned in a book on tank battles seen from the german side.
Both books talk about 10.01.44 as a date for ground fighting. Which Luftwaffe units were based there? |

Yes, sure... with different version s of spelling etc. pp. ...
![]() PS: It was called "Shukowzy" in the books. Other places around are "Shmerinka"=Zhmerynka and "Nowo Petrowsk". |

Apparently, it is there: 49° 00' 46" N 28° 09' 17" E,
Close to Zhmerynka and Novo Petrovsk... |
