Luftwaffe victory, Offenheim, 13 August 1944
Between 0005-0015hrs on 13 August 1944, Halifax bomber MZ345/G-C8 of No.640 Squadron, Leconfield, UK crashed in the forest of Vorholz, one mile west of Offenheim. It is believed that the bomber was shot down by a night-fighter. Can anyone confirm this? If a night-fighter was the cause, can anyone provide further details - pilot, unit, aircraft, etc?
