Theodor Quandt

Apparently this 15-victory ace of the first war was killed during the battle of France in an ME 109. If anyone can add details, it would be appreciated.

Re: Theodor Quandt

Not much, but according to "Above the Lines" by Norman Franks he was shot down by French fighters on 6 June 1940, flying a Bf 109 E of JG3.
Are you interested in the victory list of WW1?

Re: Theodor Quandt

I searched our files and came up with only this:

QUANDT, Theodor. 06.40 Maj., in Stab/JG 3 (to 06.06.40 †).

He doesn't appear in the Tony Woods loss lists or apparently in Prien's Jagdverband volumes. A search of the web using Web Ferret also came up empty. There is a chance that his story might be revealed further in Peter Cornwell's "Battle of France, Then and Now" but my copy hasn't arrived yet!

Hopefully someone out there might have more.

Re: Theodor Quandt

Thanks, guys, that's a big help so far. I believe Quandt was a comrade of my uncle's.
