Oblt Helmut Klischat 2/KG51

Hi, could anybody help with information on this particular pilot.
Unit was 2/KG51, believed lost 12.7.42 in JU88A-4 W.Nr 6635.

Any info required on his career, loss circumstances, crew and finally a/c markings if known.

Best regs,
Steve.

Re: Oblt Helmut Klischat 2/KG51

We have only a little bit of info on this guy:

KLISCHAT, Helmut. (R). 13.04.42 Oblt. in KG 51, awarded the Ritterkreuz. 12.07.42 Oblt., I./KG 51 KIA by fighters in Pl.Qu. 1045-3057 (western approaches to Stalingrad).

Dierich’s KG 51 history mentions only his loss on 12.07.42 in Russia.

As for receiving the Ritterkreuz, we really can't confirm this reliably.

We will add your information to our files and if you have any other particulars on this fellow, we would like to add that as well, if its relevant.

Re: Oblt Helmut Klischat 2/KG51

Hello to all,

This is what I can find in Georg BRÜTTINGs book "Das waren die Deutschen Kampffliegerasse 1939-1945 (edition of 1974):
K L I S C H A T Helmut.
'erhielt als Oblt. im KG 51 nach zahlreichen Einsätzen im Westen und an der Ostfront am 13 APRIL 1942 das Ritterkreuz....'
best wishes,

Dirk
