Luftwaffe losses. Rhubarb 09/10/1941.

On the 09th of october 1941, F/L J. E Demozay (Free French alias Morlaix ) No.91 Squadron flew a Rhubarb operation, claiming 1 Bf109F
destroyed:

AIR 50/39.p 220.Date: 9/10/41.Flight: A. Squadron: 91 Squadron. Number of enemy aircraft: One.Type of enemy aircraft: Me109F.Time attack was delivered: 10.00 approx.Place attack was delivered: Calais/Offenkerque.Height of enemy: 50 feet.Enemy casualties: One Me 109F destroyed. Our casualties: Nil.( R )GENERAL REPORT.I crossed the French coast just west of Gravelines at about 50 feet and then banked right andsighted Calais/Offenkerque aerodrome. There were about 15 Me 109 F' s dispersed on theWestern boundary and the North-Western corner of the flying field and I was thinking of attackingthese when I saw three Me 109F' s in vic formation pointing Westwards from the Eastern end of the aerodrome. As I approached, the leader of this formation was running forward to take off. As hebecame airborne I came in astern of him, opening fire at 200 yards. He crashed violently into theground and the E/A made two complete somersaults forward and was wrecked. I banked right again and crossed out East of Calais. I received flak from batteries round the aerodrome and alsofrom points between the aerodrome and the coast, but was not hit. I claim one Me 109F destroyed( signed ) Demozay.France.
I am looking for details about this Luftwaffe loss.

Many thanks.

Bernard.

Bernard:I note you have several requests in this period of operations. Have you consulted J. Prien's Jadgverband series covering this period?
