Hi Steve,

You've probably got this anyway but just in case you haven't!

H-5 WNr 4402 1H+KL 3./KG26
Aircraft failed to return from sortie to Firth of Forth, Scotland.

No other info at present, always open to corrections/amendments as always!

Regards

David

Hi David,
thanks for the confirmation of identity.
So this was a 3/KG26 aircraft and not from the Stab/KG26?

Rgs,
Steve.

David, could you confirm the 3/KG26 was the unit this crew served with?

Best regs.
Steve.

Hi Steve,

My main info came from the loss list and I had another record which backed up the codes, obviously for 3./KG26. However, all the crew were shown as being from Stab./KG26 ! It could be, as has happened in other cases, that the aircraft was loaned or transferred and the painters hadn't caught up with it. I don't have anything else at present that I could corroborate further with unfortunately.

Kind regards,

David

Many thanks again David,
my records list also that the crew were from Stab/KG26, but i had no a/c
identity listed.
Most likely has you say, the a/c was probably loaned or trsfd for use with the Stab flight.

Best regs,
Steve.
