Re: Photos + 12-10
Nice photo
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=260328024353 Assume it is Norway? Possibly Trondheim Vaenes? Also http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=260328020763 Is this another Fw190 A-3 'Black 14' of 11./JG5. does not seem to be a yellow number of 12./JG5? Nice high scoring Bf110 - later in Norway or Russia? 19 RAf Victories though ??+?P or R Any thoughts regards MS Last edited by markjsheppard; 11th December 2008 at 21:55. Reason: added to |

Re: Photos + 12-10
Any id on the B-17? It appears to have wargames camouflage and I think I can make out the word "AIRLINE" on the hangar.

Re: Photos + 12-10
Hi Mark.
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=260328024353 This could be an aircraft of 7./JG 5 enroute to the North (they had a number of landing mishaps on the slippery airfields), this certainly is, although the similar numerals seems to preclude my comment on the first aircraft: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=260328025630 Perhaps the first one is an Emil from Jagdgruppe Drontheim? The airfield of the first photo is in all likelihood Vaernes. This may be one of Weissenberger's Bf 110s whilst he was serving with 6. or 10.(Z)/ JG 5 (thus coded LN+_R): http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=260328022092 ...and I suspect this is "Black 14" from 11./JG 5 at Gossen or Herdla. All in all a nice seletion of photos of Luftwaffe aircraft from Norway, only one of which I have seen before. Thanks to Ed as usual! Kjetil |
