He 111 of KG 54

The attached pictures from my collection shows a downed He 111 of KG 54. Does anybody have more information about this crash? I know this might be difficult since the aircraft code is not visible but the damage to the tail is so distinctive that it might give a clue.

Thanks in advance,
Rudi.

Hi,

it`s most probably well-known B3+JM.

Exactly so, Robert. The building and that lighter patch of grass in the background confirms it as such. Documented as follows:

4./KG54 Heinkel He111P-2. Badly damaged by No. 92 Squadron Spitfires over Dunkirk and belly-landed on beach at Middlekerke 8.00 a.m. BO Uffz Franz Härter killed, BF Uffz Hans Bayer and BM Uffz Kurt Fiedler both wounded – admitted to field hospital in Ostend, FF Oberlt Günther Seubert unhurt. Aircraft B3+JM 100% write-off.

Re: He 111 of KG 54

Thank you very much Robert & Peter for your quick reply.
I also had been thinking about the Middelkerke crash of B3+JM because the building in the background is the same. But the other pictures I have about the B3+JM crash don't show this amount of damage to the tail of the He 111. That's why I thought this might be a different aircraft all together.

Kind regards,
Rudi.
