I am searching a registration of a P-47 Thunderbold who was lay down on the bottom the Laacher See. I haven't any details or date from the crash. Maybe anyone of you can help me with these information. Also lay on the bottom of the lake Laacher See, a HalifaxII-bomber I have some information of that airplane these information is Serialnumber: BB214;Sqn.103 and his registration begins with PM-?. The plane were shut down when the plane was on his way to bomb-mission over Nürnberg all it happend on August 29,1942. I hope that anyone of you also help me with these information. I think you know these informations regarding BB214:
http://www.lostbombers.co.uk/bomber.php?id=8522 P-47: according to the MACR , P-51D 44-14540 of 4.FG should have crashed at least in this area on 25.12.1944, a fellow researcher listed the a/c with "Laacher See". In fact, several single engined a/c (P-51, P-47, Bf 109 and Fw 190) crashed or were reported as "last seen" in this area, but only a Bf 109 is more or less confirmed. Best regards Heuser |
