what means ..."radi I lead"...?
Hi all,
in an encounter report, the following sentence is given: ..." I gave him two short bursts allowing "one and one half radi I lead", and observed strikes on the fuselage... What dose it mean? This expression comes several times, but I don't understand its sense. Thanks for help! Flyingkag. |

Re: what means ..."radi I lead"...?
radius, radii (plural)
Imagine the "typical" ring graticule center is 0 rad center to border of "ring" is 1 rad 1/2 rad is half that distance So leading by 1 1/2 radii would place the target 1/2 rad outside the reticle. From the time before gyro stabilized, lead computing (let alone radar ranging) gun sights.
