Post 31.7.43 Stirling abgestuerzt in der Naehe von Koenigshoven

Am 31. Juli 1943 ist mein Onkel Bert Wallis in der Naehe von Koenigshoven/Garzweiler abgestuerzt. Seine Leiche ist nie gefunden worden, obgleich zwei andere vom selben Flugzeug in Moenchengladbach begraben wurden. Ich suche Informationen ueber den Absturz und den Bericht des Absturzes, der vom Luftwaffesuchtrupp geschreiben worden ist.

Hello ,

Mr Theo Boiten book " The nachtjagd War Diaries " gives on page 227 the following information:

Uffz Horst John claims a Stirling at 0101 hrs south west of Remscheid
Uffz Hubert Engst claims a Sirling at 0116 hrs south east off Wuppertal
Oblt Hans Silberg claims a Stirling at 0120 hrs at Wuppertal
Uffz Otto Steinhagen claims a Sirling at 0122 hrs north west of Remscheid
Fw Willi Rülkotter claims a Stirling at 0129 hrs at Remscheid

You should write to or visit the responsible registry office of the local adminstration. They had the order postwar, to file all British A/C crew losses on their tlocal territory if fatalities were amongst. By the the circumstances of those times, it's possible, that the registry was able to sign those cases even in 1947.
