Re: Messerschmitt Bf110D

Hello

Do you mean the Udet Flamingo biplane?

http://www.airliners.net/photo/Untit...ext_id=1342544

The picture is a replica but a faithful one.
Or try an image search:

Cheers

Chris

Re: Messerschmitt Bf110D

also visible in this photo (Bf 110 at war, Armand van Ishoven) is a bulge under the fuselage, typical for Bf 110 C's

Re: Messerschmitt Bf110D

the image is as posted by rfl51, the info is -

-- On 16 July 1940 GLM Ernst Udet became the user of Bf 110 D-0 (3354) VF+HP, this a/c replaced his ageing Bf 110 C-1 (945) GK+AY and was stationed at Tempelhof. The a/c had been used at Tarnewitz for armament trials. --

Hess flew Messerschmitt Bf110 E-1/N Werk Nummer 3869, coded VJ+OQ on his little visit to Scotland.

You can find more details in Roy Conyers Nesbit and Georges Van Acker's excellent book "The Flight Of Rudolf Hess: Myths and Reality."

Part of the fuselage of this aircraft is on display at the Imperial War Museum in London. Or was the last time I was there.
