Re: Photos 4-18
Hello!
This Fw 190 A(-5 or -6) photo is very interesting: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=220397425726 Could this be the "white 2" of Herbert Aloe 4./JG 54 who was shot down June 21st, 1944 near Viipuri? Certainly the plane has all the attributes for II/JG 54. Later in the Summer the yellow fuselage band upper part was usually painted over, though. This photo might have been taken at Petseri (Pechory) May 1944? Loss of Aloe and Knöbel has been discussed earlier in thread "IL-2 vs JG 54" at the forum: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=8799 Cheers, Kari |

Re: Photos 4-18
Some nice photos
4 Hurricanes salvaged from France and on the docks ready to return to the UK. Assuming German photo - they never made it back. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=170322431762 Just had another look - P3359 ?U-T or P3559?? Also photos of 4 different Battles down in France - I doubt anything new? Fw190 A-5 of 4./JG54. Not sure of time period - late 43 or 44 seems best. This A-5 is similar to Fw190A-5 1227 'White A' or 4./JG54 (July 1943) now with PAul Allen and nearing completion. Outer MG/FF's deleted and flat cover with small raised section (not as per large bulge with cannon magazine). Would say it is 01511?? or 01512?? block. Did not carry II horizontal bar in summer 43 and were attached to the new IV Gruppe. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=220397425726 http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=220397425015 Also had an engine change and no ETC centreline rack (+ inner wheel covers are there. Is May 1944 too late? Nice photo though. regards MS |

Thanks for additional info. I also have second thoughts about my timing. Summer 1944 4. and 5./JG 54 Fw 190s had mostly white (or light colour) spinner with black (dark) spiral. All dark spinners do point to year 1943. Late 1943 is probable. Even with this timing it could be the same "2" flown by Aloe June 1944. In theory at least. Cheers, Kari |

Re: Photos 4-18
Kari
Hope you are well. Is it 4./JG54 or 6./JG54? Trying to work out whether white or yellow. Possibly September/October 1943. Could well be Aloe's aircraft as this was Fw190 A-5 W.Nr 15(0)1214 which is in one of the other blocks for these Fw190's with deleted outer cannons. I thought the block was 01 5 1227. (Stkz DG+HO). (01- A model, 5 for type and W.Nr1227) Aloes plane was a sister ship. 01 5 1214 and (Stkz DG+HB). Sure there is a photos of this group of Fw190s including DG+HD which had trop filters and a bomb rack. Will have to dig it out. Catch up with you soon regards Mark |

Re: Photos 4-18
Gentlemen,
i found the solution: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=390049895221 It is TP-Q. I asked the seller for the serial and he read ..545. It could be P2545 that was used later by Überführungskommando in Joachimstal 29.04.1943 (information from: Hurricane w obcej sluzbie - Hurricane in Foreign Service by Miroslaw Wawrzynski, AJaKS, page 26).
