JG 52 claim on 28.6.1941

Hi all,

I was doing a research about loss of Stirling Mk.I N6007/MG-Q on that day.
From lists of Tony Wood it seems to me that it was shot down at
16.10 Ltn. H-R. Bethke
or
16.22 Ltn. S. Mikosek.
But some other sources shows that Mikosek was caliming a B-17 instead of Stirling... but I was not able to find a B-17 loss on that day.

Anyone can help me to make it clear? My main interest is who shot down the Stirling?

TIA

Pavel

Re: JG 52 claim on 28.6.1941

Hi Thomas,

I have a discrepancy - according to RAF sources Stirling N3663 was lost on 3. 8. 1941 during raid on Berlin so it can not be lost on 28. 6. 1941...

So it seems to me that only one Stirling was lost...

Re: JG 52 claim on 28.6.1941

Hi,

according to book of Michael Boyer "The Stirling Story" Bethke had been shot down by crew of F/L Blacklock (N3663) before the N6007 went down. Another Stirling flying with second formation had been damaged by fighters (N3656 from XV Sqn).

Regards

Robert
