Heinz Grimm

Hi guys

I have read that Unteroffizier Heinz Grimm (26 victories, RK, died of wounds 13 October 1943) of 4./NJG 1 was shot down on 6 July 1941. However, the only loss that I was able to find that day was Bf 110 (W.Nr. 3607) of I./NJG 1 which belly-landed at Gruitrode due to enemy fire with the Bordfunker Unteroffizier Walter Kaben being wounded. Could anyone confirm that this was his aircraft? If so, could they also add the subtype and tactical code, as well as the specific Staffel, if possible? Any additional information or clarification of this incident would be most welcome.

Horrido!

Leo

Re: Heinz Grimm

Hello Leo,

the pilot of Bf 110 C-7, W-Nr. 3607 (G9+DH) was Fw. Macke, 1./NJG 1.

Hello Willi

Many thanks for the clarification concerning this incident. I must admit that I was somewhat doubtful of the information that I read as it also stated that he claimed his first victory that same night. However, his first victory was not claimed until 7 September 1941. Many thanks for answering my question and clearing this up for me.

Horrido!

Leo
