Hi All,
Any info on the circumstances of this loss, and the fate of the crew would be most helpful.
Thanks
Joe

Hi Joe,

according to Radtke the plane (Ju 88 A-4) was lost due to FLAK in Normandy during supply droppings for surrounded German troops.
FF Komoss August Ofw MIA
BO Sartena Gustav Fw MIA
BF Vilimowsky Johann Fw MIA
BS Dittrich Kurt Uffz MIA

Hope this helps,
Rudi.

Hi Rudi,
Thanks, Since posting, I have found that Ofw Komoss is buried in Tourgeville cemetery, also I have info from AIR2/8738, that the body of Fw Sartena, EM 67412/368, was found in the sea off Courseulles on 21/07/44, he had a Wallet containing, 4 Golden, 20 RM and an obituary notice, no grave listed by VDK, and not listed as being buried at sea, so where is he? I did not know if Vilimowsky and Dittrich had survived.
Regards
Joe

Thanks for the update on Komoss & Sartena, Joe. I've no idea about the rest of the crew.

Kind regards,
Rudi.
