Re: German a/c interned Switzerland

Thanks so much for the listing. I can report at least one omission, however.

On March 4, 1944 a Macchi C.205 (MM. 92289) flown by Cap. Goffredo Trevisini landed at Lausanne, slightly damaging the plane whose starboard mainwheel partially retracted upon touching the runway.

The plane was coming from Lonate Pozzolo, where it was intended that it had to be ferried to Venaria Reale, to be delivered to Squadriglia Autonoma "Montefusco" of the ANR. The pilot had different ideas however and had decided to defect to Switzerland, and specifically at Lausanne, where his fiancée was living...

The Macchi C.205 was later transferred to Dubendorf and given back to Italy on 24 July 1947.

P-S- Here ( http://win.150gct.it/public/veltro/0...ei_In_Fuga.pdf ) you can eventually download an article I wrote several years ago about this and a couple other "fleeing" episodes involving ANR aircraft (in Italian language, I'm sorry).

P.P.S. In case there was a separate listing concerning Italian aircraft, please forgive the intrusion.

Hope this helps.
