I had seen a few years ago that he was alive, but not doing well, living in Canada.

Does anyone have any further info?

Steven, the last I heard from him was about ten years ago, and yes, he spent most of his later life here in Canada.

There has been no notification in the Fliegerblatt of his passing.

The last I heard was that he was in poor health and living in British Columbia.

It was one of the first pictures of the FW190 I remember, with him sitting on the cockpit edge. As my name applies It has been a picture I really like and just wanted to know more about him.
