I came upon this name but have no info on it whatsoever who was he? An ace?did he survive? Thanks

Uffz. Hautkappe 5/JG54 missing over the Channel 15-8-40 according to the Osprey 'JG54 Grunherz' publication.

Uffz Friedrich Wilhelm Hautkappe (born 2 Jul 18 in Vormholz) of 5/JG 54 was apparently shot down near Dover on 15 Aug 40 and according to WASt was taken POW

In the WASt.-list is Uffz. Hautkappe still missing!! The remark "gefangen" is replaced in "vermisst".
