Fliegertechnische Gruppe - Uman

Does anyone know on which NARA microfilm(s) are the records of Fliegertechnische Gruppe - Uman (and other Luftwaffe repair centres in Russia)?

Thanks,

Thanks,
The surviving records to be found in BA-MA Signaturen RL 22 (Fliegertechnische Dienste und sonstige Technische Dienste der Luftwaffe - 26 folders/1 linear meter) and RL 24 (Luftzeuggruppen - 130 folders/3 linear meters) were never microfilmed and therefore cannot be found at NARA WashDC. One must go to Freiburg to work this material.

Parts at least must have been microfilmed because I saw them in Warsaw in a library - in the files dealing with supplies to co-beligerent air forces.

If so, they are not to be found in NARA T-177, T-321, T-405 or T-971, these being the only NARA Record Group 242 microcopies with Luftwaffe material. I've been through every roll, beginning in 1979. There may be some stray files in the NASM Garber collection, but those are difficult to access because you have to go there and spend a day going through the card index to the films. There are several researchers I know who are working that material right now (2009). One of them told me several weeks ago on his return from Suitland that the pickings are slim. What a lot of researchers don't know is that probably 40% to 50% of the captured Luftwaffe records were never microfilmed. They were held by AHB/Air Ministry and then returned to the BRD in the 1960's and 1970's as is. No filming.

Re: Fliegertechnische Gruppe - Uman

According to my notes -

T-321/12
Nachweisung über Sachleistungen der dt. Lw. für Streitkräfte verb. oder befr. Mächte
- Roumania (Fl.Techn.Gruppe Saporoschje-Ost, Kirowograd) - listing of Ju 88s with W.Nrn., He 111 H-6
- Hungary (Fl.Techn.Gruppe Uman) - Bf 109 F-2/4 with W.Nrn., Bü 131 with W.Nrn.
- Croatia, Slovakia

T321/11 see above

Re: Fliegertechnische Gruppe - Uman

It looks like a few pages of stray correspondence rather than substantial KTB'er und Anlagen from Dienststelle Fliegertechnische Gruppe Uman. There is occasional material like this, but nothing of substance. Perhaps I misunderstood D.B. I thought he was looking for the records of the various Technische Gruppen und Flugzeugreparaturstellen, at least the ones that might have been located on the southern sector of the Eastern Front. Did you understand otherwise?

Re: Fliegertechnische Gruppe - Uman

Agree, it is certainly not KTB on T321/11 and 12 but some interesting details though.

You understood my query exactly, Larry.
It appears the right answer is: Freiburg.
Thank you for your guidance.

Re: Fliegertechnische Gruppe - Uman

The only file, I found in Freiburg, dealing with this topic is RL 2 III/645.
It´s only a few pages with a/c mentioned.
The same information and more is in NARA T-321 Roll 12.
Found nothing in the files from RL 22 und RL 24, I checked so far.

Regards

Dirk

Re: Fliegertechnische Gruppe - Uman

I have already consulted NARA reels T321/11 and 12, and found those pages mentioned earlier (no Slovak and Croat aircraft, though). This is exactly what "wet my appetite" and was looking for more.
