Two P47 ID's to tie up
Hi all.
Trying to pin down a couple of P47 ID's 42-75272 D-11 RE 43-25272 D-20 RA Nothing on Joe's serial listing site. Unit they might have served with and I am also assuming that these P47's would have had an Olive drab finish. I am also assuming wings etc can be removed and fitted between D models and RE/RA (Farmingdale/Evanville) built examples. Any ideas? regards Mark |

Re: Two P47 ID's to tie up
Mark,
According to www.littlefriends.co.uk 42-75272 served with 56th FG/61st FS with code HV-U. It appears that most P-47s around serial 43-25272 have stayed in the US. Regards, Leendert |

Re: Two P47 ID's to tie up
Mark,
I found a couple pictures of -20 block 47's serving with the 318th FG in the Pacific. You may want to try PTO and CBI unit sites etc. and see what comes up. Good Hunting! Mike |
