B-24H 'Ann'
Dear Colleagues: Does anyone have any information or photos of the B24H 'Ann,' 42-7622, of the 445th BG, 701st BS? I found one photo of the aircraft in flight in the "Liberator Album, B24s of the 2nd Air Division, USAAF" (Mr. Baily with Mr. North). I am doing this research for my friend, Ray Scheetz, whose father was crewchief of this early B24 in Europe.
All the very best, and thanks in advance. Mike Chorney Professor, Penn State College of Medicine |

Re: B-24H 'Ann'
Mike, there's not much. Listed in "Project Bits 'N Pieces" is:
Codes: MK+Z Accepted on Inventory in 1943 Accepted On Station in 1943 Apparently this a/c's records are pretty incomplete. You might try their web site: http://www.445th-bomb-group.com/ |

Re: B-24H 'Ann'
Thank you gentlemen for your replies. I am afraid that aside from that one photo in print, not much has been documented with respect to 'Ann.' Maybe something else will turn up. I will pass this information on to Ray Scheetz. I might add that Ray's father named the plane after his wife, making his interest all the more keen.
Cheers and best wishes, Mike |
