Hi Folks,
I am looking for info on a lost 451st BG B-24H-20-FO plane, S/N: 42-94808. Plane was lost on July 7, 1944. Where did she crash? Squadron? fuselage battle number (white...) ? Pilot? Nickname, etc? Thanks for any details, Gabor |

Re: B-24h S/n: 42-94808
Slightly damaged by flak over target, on return attacked by enemy fighters in Lake Balaton area. On the first pass engines hit and 2 superchargers out, on the second pass top turret shot out. The aircraft caught fire, but managed to reach Yugoslavia, north of Zagreb. Entire crew bailed out from 10000 feet, both wings fell off and aircraft crashed. Enemy aircraft circled parachutist but didn't shoot.
